Terrorism

(For the students of Middle Classes)

One day, I was watching television. My dad and mom were also there. There was a news-flash about bomb-blast in Karachi. Then its coverage started. Different persons expressed their views about this act. There was much on terrorism. I asked my father what terrorism is. He gave me some information. Thus I knew its true meaning.

The word terrorism has been derived from terror. Terror means threat or panic. This is every thing you are afraid of. For example, you see a dreadful dream. You are terrified. You experience terror. You see a black cat. You are afraid. You see a bomb-blast, you are horrified. Thus every thing you see and get frightened is a terror.

Now let us see what terrorism is. It means the act of violence or threat. It usually refers to bomb blasts etc. Terrorism may be caused by an individual or a party or group. The first kind is not so dangerous as the latter.

Terrorism is a hideous thing; disliked by every one, liked by none. Yet it is going on. It is being carried out by some crazy people. Being a good Muslim, we hate such acts. Islam declares the killing of an innocent person as the killing of the whole of mankind.
