Female Education

Women’s Place in Society/ Careers for Women/ Female Education
Outline: 1. Introduction,            2. Beginning of new professions,           3. Careers for Women,             4. Why so many careers for women?,     5. Closing

Men and women are part and parcel of each other. They complement each other. Man without woman is incomplete. Same is the case with the woman. The first man on earth is believed to be Hazrat Adam. He was alone and felt loneliness. Then God created woman in the form of Eve to remove his loneliness. This was the first human couple on earth. Then with this couple, multiplication started. Human population began to multiply.
In olden times, human life was very simple. Man lived in caves and jungles. Then by and by, human knowledge increased. Man’s needs increased. From simple hunting emerged out many professions. In the beginning, these professions were very simple. For example, weaving was there. But it was very simple. Then with the invention of new things, simple loom turned into a textile mill, then the other and so on. The same is true of all other occupations.
Then a time came when it was felt that the income of a single member of the family is not enough. With this feeling came the idea of women careers. Formerly women worked with men in different fields. Then jobs for women were created. Some of the careers for women include nursing, teaching, advertising, modeling etc. Now we can see women working shoulder to shoulder with men in the armed forces, industry, journalism, photography, radio, television etc. The women are now running, schools, day care centers, boutiques. They are working efficiently as newscasters, producers, pilots, doctors, journalists etc. In this way, the women are adding to the income of the family.
How is it? This is just because the women are getting education. The women who are thus working in offices and other fields are literate. They have got themselves educated. With the education, they have a high status in society. Had there been no education, there would have been no progress, no status for women.
Educated women assist their household. They nurse their families when disease attacks their family. They earn a lot of money and foreign exchange. All this is possible with education. When we say that men and women are part and parcel of each other, we mean they are equal. If man has right to get himself educated, so has the woman. Because of education, the women have a high status in society. It is also because of education that they have so many careers; some of them described above.
